The grand opening of a new VA counseling center took place this past Saturday in Marietta, Georgia. The center, which is the largest of its kind in the Atlanta Metro Area features numerous offices for counseling and family therapy to address the mental health problems many veterans experience, particularly after returning from combat.
Services for veterans and their families at the Marietta Vet Center include:
- Readjustment counseling for combat vets
- Military sexual trauma counseling
- Bereavement counseling to loved ones who lost a service member on active duty
The VA’s Assistant Secretary of Public and Intergovernmental Affairs, Tammy Duckworth, presented the keynote address at the grand opening.
